Mom Blog to Money Blog Review ~ Day 16
I can not tell you how many times a day I get asked questions on how to make money with a blog.  It breaks my heart that I can’t clone myself to give everyone a one-on-one consultation or respond to every email or notification I receive.  Therefore, I sat down for 4 weeks and wrote everything I know about blogging in this course, Mom Blog to Money Blog.
It’s an online workshop with a one-time membership fee, which is a one year membership, no strings attached, and no hidden fees.  It’s straight from my heart spilling all my secrets, with 16 printable checklists, and 21 how-to video’s.  My hope was to make you feel like I was right there next to you and walking you through the process.  {hugs}
So, are you ready to  get paid for your talent and writing writing and bring home the bacon?  I’ll show you how.  {{click the links for more info.}}
DAY 16: MUST USE WORDPRESS PLUGINS!
Day Sixteen in the Mom Blog Money Blog is one of my favorite days because I share what I consider the MUST USE WordPress Plugins.  The tech geek in me just loves to play around with this sort of thing, so I’ve tried all kinds of plugins to see which ones play well together, and which one’s don’t for optimal performance.  {{snicker}}
So, in Day 16, we talk plugins, and I share my MUST USE list!
My Time As A Mom ~ Review of Day 16
As a blogger, freelance writer and mom at My Time As a Mom, time is of the essence.  Jessica has 2 kids, 2 dogs and an expensive jeans habit.
You can also find Jessica at  One Martini at a Time, a site where they feature cocktail recipes, and she freelances over at Business 2 Blogger every Monday on anything related to blogging and social media. If that’s not enough {{wink}} look for her at allParenting on the topics of social media and tech for parents.  When she’s not blogging she enjoys reading books that will not teach her anything, quilting, and taking naps.
“I learned that I should have a newsletter for my blog!”
I learned, once again, that I should have a newsletter for my blog. I think it would really be helpful to cut down on the amount of emails people get from my site and I would be able to give them more information at one time.
If I already use a comment reply plugin, should I still use the one you suggest?
Question for Laurie
: Â If I already use a comment reply plugin, should I still use the “Thank Me Later” plugin? Seems like it would be annoying to people who leave comments to get two emails after leaving a comment on the site.
Answer by Laurie:  Jessica, you are absolutely right. The last thing we want to accomplish by working so hard to gain new commenters and subscribers is to just annoy them with too many emails. They’ll simply un-subscribe and then all your hard work is wasted. The key to using plugins is to use them sparingly because they can put an unnecessary load on a blog or website and the same can happen with too many emails. To avoid over-loading subscribers and readers it’s best to use an Editorial Calendar {which you learn about in Day 7 of the Mom Blog to Money Blog online workshop} along with a newsletter marketing strategy {which is discussed in Day 19}. This way you have a plan and purpose for the emails, RSS feeds, and other communication. A really easy way to manage your emails is to assign one day for your newsletter and make sure that you don’t post a Sponsored post on that day as well. For instance, if your newsletter goes out on a Tuesday, then you would never publish a Sponsored post {or the like} on a Tuesday. This way the content your readers and subscribers receive is relevant and helps them ~ instead of overwhelming them. You’ll find that you will have less unsubscribers and happier readers when the information you send them is spaced appropriately, relevant, and always with their best interests at heart.
