This bright and cheerful mobile was created using scrapbook paper, fishing line, a wreath form, and ribbon. It is for my new niece’s nursery, but also served as the centerpiece decoration at her baby shower!
I grabbed a bunch of scrapbook paper in colors that will coordinate with the nursery and used 3 different sized paper punches to create a Big Old Pile of shapes.
Then I used fishing line and a medium sized sewing needle to create long and short strips. I tied small knots in between each shape so they stayed spaced correctly and didn’t all fall to the bottom of the string.
I spray painted a green wire floral wreath form to use as the base of my mobile. As I tied each strip onto the orange base, I put a few drops of Krazy Glue at each of the contact points so those strips stayed put.
I wove a brown ribbon around the edge to finish it off, and I really like it. It is bright and modern, sure to keep the baby happy!
