I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
So for today’s Talk To Me Tuesday I’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2010?
To encourage everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away prizes!! Three lucky winners will have their Word of the Year customized to one of these fabulous necklaces.
1. RHB Designs
3. Frostings
Simply leave your Word of the Year in the comments.
Feel free to leave your post link or video, if you’ve created one.  Contest ends Jan. 11th.
My word is SMILE!
I want to enjoy 2010 and look for reasons to be happy. With my kids, I want to enjoy every minute because I am not going to get this time back when they are little. I want to enjoy to “doing” a little more and the “getting it done” a little less.
When my mom started chemo and radiation May 2009, our family theme was “I Believe”. I sang a song for my mom that goes, “I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows….I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come and show the way…”
I believe that when my mom passes, I will see my mother again some day because we are sealed as a family. I believe that temples provide a source of strength and comfort for aching hearts.
My word for 2010 is HOPE. Last year was such a rough year and we’re not sure what the future holds, so I’m clinging to hope that things will start to look up for my family this year.
My word is HABIT
I want to make a HABIT of going to the gym and a HABIT out of sticking to my budget!
My word is NOW!
It is my 37th birthday today and I feel so full of joy that I have finally realized that this moment NOW, this everyday, ordinary moment, is so very precious!
Thanks for this lovely idea… you made me focus in on what is really important.
Blessings and magic,
Donni
