Today I’m showcasing my favorite DIY decor tutorial that I’ve done all year. It’s a broken jewelry letter craft that I made for Charming Charlie (an accessory store).
This was really the coolest opportunity as I’m a huge fan of Charming Charlie. For me, they are the go-to-place for inexpensive accessories. Since I have all boys, the only person I have to dress up is myself! {{sad but true}} Since the Charming Charlie store organizes their accessories by color – it’s the easiest place for me to buy my accessories.
Watch my video for all the details on how to use broken jewelry to embellish this wood letter.

As featured on CharmingCharlie.com – This DIY decor project gives you an opportunity to use your outdated jewelry, non-functional jewelry, sentimental jewelry, jewelry you received as a gift (but would not wear), and other jewelry odds and ends.
Craft ~ Broken Jewelry Letter
For the complete tutorial on how to make this gorgeous blinged out monogram you can watch my video or head on over to the Charming Charlie blog with all the specifics.

You’ll need a letter of any size, a lot of jewelry, tin snips, and a hot glue gun. It took me 5 hours to make the first one (silver) but only 2 hours to make the second one (gold). Once you get all the jewelry cut up and figure out the design, it’s incredibly easy and zero crafting skills are required. {{wink}} Simply cut up the jewelry with the tin snips and hot glue onto the letter. That’s it!
You can hang it directly onto any wall or frame it like I did with the silver one. You can also go as elaborate or as simple as you’d like and use any size letter. This would make a gorgeous homemade gift idea. Keep it in mind for birthday presents this next year.

I would love to win an A for my sister, Amahra!
I would LOVE the letter “H” for my sister, Lindsey. She is getting married on June 4th, 2011 and her last name will be Huskins! I know she would love to hang this in their new house. What a wonderful decoration piece it would make for their living room! Thanks for sharing such wonderful ideas and for giving us a chance to win this piece!!! {excited} : )
This is adorable! I love the idea.
I would love to win and the letter I choose is N for Naomi. (Obviously that’s not my name, but its for a friend of mine). I’ve known this girl since we were sophomores in high school and she just got engaged! I love her to death and her fiance. They have helped mee out through so much and i can’t express how much they mean to me. I think this would be an amazing gift for them. I can see her putting it in her living room of the apartment right above the TV becuase that’s the center and focus of their apartment. It’d be an amazing gift and make her apartment that much cuter!
I love this idea! So creative! I would like to win the letter “C” and I would hang it in my craft area. I have created a “me” space to do things I enjoy (important sanity saver) and I want to put things there that are what I love & things that inspire me to get creative! This piece would be a perfect addition! Thanks for being willing to give us this opportunity to win!
Hi Laurie,
I LOVE this idea!! How unique and fun! I have enjoyed browsing around your blog and look forward to using your tips in the future! I would love a W for our last name and could totally see this hanging or propped up in our master bedroom. Thanks for taking the time to invest in other ladies lives!
