Today I’m showcasing my favorite DIY decor tutorial that I’ve done all year. It’s a broken jewelry letter craft that I made for Charming Charlie (an accessory store).
This was really the coolest opportunity as I’m a huge fan of Charming Charlie. For me, they are the go-to-place for inexpensive accessories. Since I have all boys, the only person I have to dress up is myself! {{sad but true}} Since the Charming Charlie store organizes their accessories by color – it’s the easiest place for me to buy my accessories.
Watch my video for all the details on how to use broken jewelry to embellish this wood letter.

As featured on CharmingCharlie.com – This DIY decor project gives you an opportunity to use your outdated jewelry, non-functional jewelry, sentimental jewelry, jewelry you received as a gift (but would not wear), and other jewelry odds and ends.
Craft ~ Broken Jewelry Letter
For the complete tutorial on how to make this gorgeous blinged out monogram you can watch my video or head on over to the Charming Charlie blog with all the specifics.

You’ll need a letter of any size, a lot of jewelry, tin snips, and a hot glue gun. It took me 5 hours to make the first one (silver) but only 2 hours to make the second one (gold). Once you get all the jewelry cut up and figure out the design, it’s incredibly easy and zero crafting skills are required. {{wink}} Simply cut up the jewelry with the tin snips and hot glue onto the letter. That’s it!
You can hang it directly onto any wall or frame it like I did with the silver one. You can also go as elaborate or as simple as you’d like and use any size letter. This would make a gorgeous homemade gift idea. Keep it in mind for birthday presents this next year.

I would like the letter ‘G’. My husband died one year ago yesterday (12-29-09). I have been living in the house owned by his estate. It is a small, old house, drafty and cold in winter and hot in summer (the semi-tropics). Because of the money left to me in his will, I can afford to buy a little two bedroom cottage. I would love to have the monogram to display it in remembrance of the sweet husband who made it possible for me to purchase my future home.
I would love to have the letter “S” it is the first letter of my name (Stephanie). I am a college student and I live in student housing with three other girls and the thing is is to put the first letter of your name on your door of your bedroom. It would be soooo awesome to have this as my letter for my door.
hey!!! i would love a letter a for my bathroom!!! thanks!!!
I would love either the letter “K” for my daughter Keira, or the letter “C” for me or “S” for our family name–this is such a great idea, and now I’m kicking myself for all the broken/old/jewelry I never used and threw away or gave away!!
Thanks!
I would absolutely love, love, love to have the letter “G” made in this fabulous jewelry for my 89 yr-old mother to hang in her room at the nursing home! Her 90th birthday is coming in April and this would be the best gift ever. She used to always dress up when she worked and put on pins, necklaces, and earrings to be in style, even 50 years ago. Please consider our request for her.
Thank you
