Step 1
Thin Out The Polish
The usual process is to lay on one or two thick coats – which takes an interminably long time to dry. Instead, try laying on three really thin layers while allowing time for each coat to dry before adding the next coat.
It may seem counter intuitive but the drying time is significantly reduced even though you are using more layers to achieve the desired effect.
Step 2
Air Duster
The air duster is endothermic (heat absorbing) as it emits a cooling spray to dry out your nails almost instantly. Just make sure you are holding the air duster a suitable distance from your hand and prepare yourself for the blast of cold.
One method to use so you remove the chance of damaging your lovingly crafted fingers is to use a family member or roommate to do the “air dusting” for you.
Step 3
Pam Cooking Spray
Not only are they good for helping you remove the cake from the pan, Pam cooking spray is also great as an alternative to a quick dry nail spray.
The oil/butter in the Pam is the secret to its success as it boosts your nail drying time substantially. Don’t spray too close and only use a very small amount.
Step 4
Fast Drying Nail Spray
You can find these fast drying nail sprays in most beauty stores and they can help you get a super-fast drying time for your nails.
Spray lightly while holding the aerosol at least 12 inches distance from the nails.
Step 5
Freeze Your Nails
If you’re really in a rush you can try “freeze drying” your nails. Place your hands into the freezer for just a couple of seconds and let the super low temperatures suck the moisture right out of the nail polish.
Step 6
Hair Dryer
Not just for hair, a hair dryer can also replace your breath as a much more efficient blow-drying of your nails. Make sure the hair dryer is on its lowest setting before unleashing it on your nails and don’t hold it too close or you may feel the burn.
Step 7
Dipping In Ice Water
Before you dunk your lovely new nails into ice-cold water, be sure you blow on them for a few seconds. If they still look wet this method may not work. Also, be sure to keep the ice cubes away from the paint job as they can potentially scuff the new look.
Try this for about 15 – 30 seconds – which is just enough time for the cold water to freeze dry your new coats of polish.
