Create these wonderful creatures from old golf balls. A simple step of curling the wire ends makes the project kid-friendly. You assemble them and the kids paint them!

Bend wires to desired shapes. Curl all ends that will be exposed to make these garden buggies kid-friendly.
Drill holes approximately 3/4″ deep using 3/64″ drill bit. Use a vice to hold the balls steady while drilling.
Use Sharpie to mark locations for drilling holes for legs, antennae, etc.
Use adhesive to attach nut for nose (ladybug, bee), screw for beak (bird), washers for eyes (frog).
Paint base colours: frog (green), bird (blue), ladybug (black and red), bumblebee (black and yellow).
Do finishing touches for each buggie. Frog: use Black Sharpie to draw eyes, nose, and smiling mouth. Ladybug: Paint or draw wings and spots. Bumblebee: Draw stripes with Black Sharpie and fill in with paint. Bird: Paint eyes with white paint, add details with Black Sharpie. See images for colours for legs and antenae.
Wash and dry golf balls. Decide which buggies you want to make and get supplies ready.
