This time on Refashion Friday, I upcycle a dress with so much Hibiscus print that it threatens to take over the world. I show you how to turn this over-the-top dress into a cute tunic top. This tutorial will take the fear out of sewing your own clothes.

You Will Need...
- sewing machine
- thread
- thrifted dress that is too large for you, mine is a woven fabric
- a top that fits (to use for a sizing guide)
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Snip (or seam rip, if you don’t have much extra fabric) the side seams.
Step 2
On one side, adjust and pin gathers.
Step 3
Cut away excess fabric on side seams and hemline, making sure to leave a generous seam allowance.
Step 4
Sew new side seams.
Step 5
Fold, press and sew new hemline.
Step 6
Rock your new look!
