I love the idea of a nautical themed party because the colors are so bright and happy, and finding festive decor is pretty easy. It’s a theme that can be pulled off anytime of the year and can be indoor or outdoors. In this tip, I’ll give you a peek at my sons second birthday and how I brought the whole nautical look together!

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Make a homemade “smash cake” for your little one to enjoy all himself…I chose a simple white cake and made it more festive with handmade cake bunting, which I downloaded from Paige Simple on Etsy and then printed.
Step 2
For the guests, I chose to have a cupcake tower. A great way to dress up your cupcakes in a fun way is to place custom fondant toppers on each one. I chose these amazing nautical ones from Your Cupcake Story on Etsy.
Step 3
Use chalk pens to write a fun welcome message to your guests, and look for great inexpensive themed decor for your theme table at PartySwizzle.com, such as lanterns and buoys.
Step 4
Jones Soda’s come in a bright assortment of colors, and you can peel off the labels and wrap your own custom ones, for a really fun detail. I chose these cute nautical ones from Vens Paperie on Etsy
Step 5
A handmade birthday banner is always a beautiful detail to add to your party. I chose this one from Bubbly New York on Etsy
Step 6
Find a frame that you already have, and put your party invitation in it, to use on your theme table. I always order my invites from TinyPrints.com
Step 7
Bring the whole look together with a theme table, and arrange either your desserts, food, or both.
