Grandparents need for you to care about them and their lives. I probably learned this not from being a grandparent, but from not being a perfectly perfect (but almost) daughter. Ask them about their histories and write down their stories. Video interview them and involve the whole family. This also helps kids learn how to reach out to others — a priceless life skill.
