17 Decorative Clothes Hanger and Hook Tutorials

Decorative clothes hangers are perfect for organizing your clothes and making your closet beautiful!  Here are several pictured tutorials on how to make clothes hangers and hooks both fabulous and functional. Clothes Hanger

1.  Clothes Hanger {fabric covered} ~ So maybe when you are looking for a gift, hangers aren’t the first thing that comes to mind.  But I would love a gift like this!  Especially for a housewarming (you want to start out with an organized closet!) or even a graduate heading off to college.  And if you are feeling extra generous, hang a new dress on one of them for the recipient.

2.  Doily Covered Hanger ~ These vintage doily hangers are not only cute, but help keep slips and other thin strapped clothing items from slipping off.  Simply sew doilies onto a wire hanger until the entire hanger is covered.

3.  DIY Clothes Hanger Jewelry Organization ~ Organize your jewelry using clothes hangers!  They are simple to make and wonderful space savers.  Once you’ve made one {or three or more} of these jewelry hangers, you’ll never want to use anything else to organize your jewelry!

4.  How to Hang Your Art with Hangers {diy art} ~ Hanging your art can be as easy as hanging wooden hangers! Here is a tutorial on how to create a unique wall of pictures using wooden hangers.

5.  How to Make a Shoe Hanger {organize} ~ If you are continually losing a flip flop or a flat, this tutorial is for you!  Learn how to make adorable shoe hangers from regular wire hangers.

6.  Custom Name Wire Hangers ~ These would make such an adorable gift for a bridal shower!  You could do “Mrs. Jones” and have a whole set for her, or find the bridesmaids’ names and make one for each of the bridal party to keep their dresses on.  It’s probably a good idea to practice one or two names with smaller wire before you tackle the harder stuff.

7.  DIY Conversation Hangers ~ These conversation hangers are absolutely fantastic!  Simply stencil your saying or word onto a wooden hanger.  Perfect for housewarming gifts, Christmas gifts or how about wedding gifts?  You could stencil “his” and “hers” onto the hangers. 8.  Mod Podge Hangers ~ A fun way to personalize and add some whimsy to a plain wooden hanger!  All you have to do is adhere the fabric to your hanger with mod podge and trim the excess off.

9.  How to Make a Book Rack ~ This tutorial to turn a wire hanger into a book rack is so easy to follow even though it is written in Portuguese.  English is not necessary to follow along.  This book rack was made to hang near the door as a reminder to return library books.  I think it would be functional in a kitchen for cook books as well. 10.  Party Animals ~ Create party animals from wire hangers and colored string or yarn.  You can shape a wire hanger into almost any type of animal.  Such a fun and cheap wall decor.

11.  Plastic Hanger ~ Aren’t these fabric wrapped hangers amazing?!  It’s a great way to take them from blah to fabulous by simply wrapping fabric strips around the hanger.

12.  Hand Beaded Wire Hanger ~ Brighten up your closet with these colorful hand beaded wire hangers.  They were originally made for adding a “pop” of color to the laundry room, but I think they would be fab in any closet! 13.  Wire Hanger Chandelier ~ Isn’t this chandelier gorgeous?!  It’s hard to believe that it’s made from wire hangers.  Five to be exact.  You can decorate the hooks with ribbon, small vases, crystals or anything your heart desires. 14.  Wood Coat Hangers {free pattern} ~ Not only are these crocheted coat hangers adorable, but are perfect for keeping creases from forming on your blouses.  And, the yarn keeps them from slipping off the hanger.  Download the free pattern to make your own.

15.  Baby Clothes Hangers {organizer} ~ This is an adorable idea of how to organize your children’s closet! Because they grow out of things so fast, having everything hung by its size is such a brilliant idea! Plus, these hangers are a free printable.  Simply download, print, cut and they are ready to use.

16.  Kids Clothes Hangers {no-slip} ~ This no-slip trick couldn’t get any easier!  Seriously.  You could have your kids do it themselves.  Simply wrap a pipe cleaner on the edge section of a plastic or wire hanger.  Easy peasy!
