I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
So for today’s Talk To Me Tuesday I’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2010?
To encourage everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away prizes!! Three lucky winners will have their Word of the Year customized to one of these fabulous necklaces.
1. RHB Designs
3. Frostings
Simply leave your Word of the Year in the comments.
Feel free to leave your post link or video, if you’ve created one.  Contest ends Jan. 11th.
Finally I found this “COMMENT ” place way down at the bottom.

My word for the contest is” DICTUM”
Grandma Shirley
Main Entry: dic·tum
Pronunciation: ?dik-t?m
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural dic·ta -t? also dictums
Etymology: Latin, from neuter of dictus, past participle of dicere
Date: 1599
1 : a noteworthy statement: as a : a formal pronouncement of a principle, proposition, or opinion b : an observation intended or regarded as authoritative
2 : a judge’s expression of opinion on a point other than the precise issue involved in determining a case
My word is intentional.
The dictionary describes intent as “a determination to act in a certain way” I want to be intentional in everything I do this year. That everything I start or try will have a purpose or meaning, and that I will not just do something for the sake of being or appearing busy, but for a purpose. For example I will not just eat to eat, but I will eat things that will improve my health and well being. I will not just exercise because I should, but with the goal of running in the breast cancer awareness race. I will not just make crafts to give me something to do, but with intention to brighten someone else’s day, home or life when it is given away.
My word is : JOY
I am going to take time to enJOY the small things in life. I’m going to enJOY the roller coaster of life. I’m going to enJOY my kids and their accomplishments. I’m going to enJOY cleaning my house and doing laundry. Because Life is to be enJOYed!
My word is APPRECIATE. I have been given so much in my life and instead of forgetting all of those things when things get hard, because we all know that life is hard sometimes I am going to appreciate the hard with the good and the good with the hard. In the end I want too, and I am pretty sure I will be, standing 🙂
Joyful. I want my life to be full of joy – no matter what.
