I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
So for today’s Talk To Me Tuesday I’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2010?
To encourage everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away prizes!! Three lucky winners will have their Word of the Year customized to one of these fabulous necklaces.
1. RHB Designs
3. Frostings
Simply leave your Word of the Year in the comments.
Feel free to leave your post link or video, if you’ve created one.  Contest ends Jan. 11th.
Enjoy! Often I will get so caught up in worrying about EVERYTHING that I miss out on the memory-making experiences that the rest of my family is enjoying.
Better!
our family has decided to work on ‘being better.’ We’ll eat better, study better, obey better, play better, teach better, pray better, do better… be better!
My word for the year is to BREATH! I recently delivered my second child and I have a tendency to try to do it all. I try to have their hair perfect, their faces always clean, their fingers always free from stickiness, my house in order, and the list goes on. All you moms out there get this, right? I just need to relax, breath, and enjoy more. Laugh more. Make messes more. Let those little fingers get dirty more. I just need to BREATH!
What a unique and wonderful giveaway! I really had to think a bit to come up with just one word that summarizes my year, but after much thinking it would be “grace”. God’s grace in my life has been abundant. I have been given so much and deserve so little. What a great thing to wear to remind me of this continually.
My word for this year is MAINTAIN.
Since October 2008, I have lost 120 pounds. I am now at my goal weight and hope to MAINTAIN my weight this year…and beyond. 🙂
