I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
So for today’s Talk To Me Tuesday I’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2010?
To encourage everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away prizes!! Three lucky winners will have their Word of the Year customized to one of these fabulous necklaces.
1. RHB Designs
3. Frostings
Simply leave your Word of the Year in the comments.
Feel free to leave your post link or video, if you’ve created one.  Contest ends Jan. 11th.
I saw that post on ALi Edwards blog, and I love it! My word for the year is Positivity. I have a lot of negative self talk and would really like to turn that around this year!
We just discussed this very thing tonight in FHE -We have chosen a “code” word for our family – and all we have to do when we see, or hear something that is not quite up to par, we just say the “code word” and it will be a reminder… so, if I had it on a necklace that myself and my family saw daily – it would be a “silent” reminder as well…. the word – “HEART” – We are striving to have… a happy heart, a tender heart, a giving heart, a humble heart, a sincere heart, a grateful heart, a prayerful heart, a kind heart, a faithful heart, a loving heart etc…. We are going to “heart” 2010….
HOPE
Thank you for making me think about this! I’m now off to think about how I can put this word around the house to remind me throughout the year when things get too hard or I am feeling low.
Blessed – I am blessed beyond measure!! And, I never want to take that for granted.
My word of the year is LOVE<3.
love everything that I am given! family, friends, health, education!
