Im all about books today people!
I really believe that it is very good to start instilling good reading habits to children by letting them read early in their childhood. I made a list of the 50 best books for children age 0-12 which you can download for free.
For all you mommies whose kids are still super duper little, this is a great starter for you. You can start collecting the books in the list while your kiddos are still crawling. That way, when they get to reach the reading age, theyll appreciate the effort you made in collecting the most well-loved books of all time. And for mommies whose kids range from those who are big enough to read and those too old to read (teehee), its never too late to gather these books.

To use this, print the free file onto an A4 size cardboard or vellum board. Use this as a checklist which you can tick mark for the books you’ve collected. You can make use of the circles beside each book title for the check marks.
I also made matching book plates for all the books you will be collecting.

To use the book plates, print them on an A4 size sticker paper (satin finish works best) and cut along the black border of each book plate. Stick these onto your children’s books and have fun!
You can also give these as gifts to expecting mothers on their baby shower.
Have fun collecting books for your kids and tagging each book with these super adorable book plates!

To commenters #1& #2, to be technical, there are actually 55 books on the list because The Chronicles of Narnia, while listed as one is a series of 7. 🙂
Great list. Thank you so much!!! I sometimes forget that there are books out there that aren’t already on my bookshelf. My kids are in love with some of these already. If you need an extra, my favorite children’s book has always been The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. So beautiful and sad at the same time. Thanks for the great reference list!!!!
