Hey Ladies! One of the best kept secrets in blog land is bartering! Yep, bartering for ad space on a blog (being a sponsor), bartering products for a review on a post, and trading products. You’d be surprised how many sponsors aren’t paying with coin – they are paying with products!
I barter all the time and I’ve had the best experiences with it. The holiday shopping season is underway and therefore it’s time to start trading with each other! This will keep cash in your pocket book and spread the cheer of your fabulous products.
My tip: Be sure you not only barter products but also negotiate a blog post as well. Hopefully, the link love will further promote your shops.
In the spirit of bartering and trading – I want to introduce you to my dear friends Colette & Jeanette and their fabulous Barter Boutique. They are making it even easier for you to find like-minded women who also want to barter.
Here are 3 tips from Barter Boutique on how to get started:
1) “Get it Listed”
It is most helpful to have a website/blog/”etsy” store to showcase what you want to barter, with the price or cost listed clearly near it.  This makes it simple for others to see what your products/services are so they can decide if it is something they want to barter for.
2) “Plan Ahead”
Figure out what you want in return first. For example, if you see something another seller is offering for $5, you can ask them if they would like to look at your web shop and pick out $5 worth of something in return for their wares.
3) “Don’t Take It Personally”
You shouldn’t be disappointed if someone turns you down. There are plenty of others who will like what you have to offer.  The same goes for when you are asked to barter for something, and you’re not interested. It’s not a problem to say “no thank you at this time”.
Barter Boutique is offering all Tip Junkie readers a free listing until Sunday at midnight! Just send them an email. No worries if you miss the deadline, their listing fee is a measly $5…with nothing more to ever pay. {{squeal in delight}}
So head on over and sign up with Barter Boutique and trade as many Christmas gifts as you can!
(No I didn’t barter anything for this post. HA! I know you’re wondering. I’m just so passionate about this idea and want everyone to know about it.)
