Today I’m showcasing my favorite DIY decor tutorial that I’ve done all year. It’s a broken jewelry letter craft that I made for Charming Charlie (an accessory store).
This was really the coolest opportunity as I’m a huge fan of Charming Charlie. For me, they are the go-to-place for inexpensive accessories. Since I have all boys, the only person I have to dress up is myself! {{sad but true}} Since the Charming Charlie store organizes their accessories by color – it’s the easiest place for me to buy my accessories.
Watch my video for all the details on how to use broken jewelry to embellish this wood letter.

As featured on CharmingCharlie.com – This DIY decor project gives you an opportunity to use your outdated jewelry, non-functional jewelry, sentimental jewelry, jewelry you received as a gift (but would not wear), and other jewelry odds and ends.
Craft ~ Broken Jewelry Letter
For the complete tutorial on how to make this gorgeous blinged out monogram you can watch my video or head on over to the Charming Charlie blog with all the specifics.

You’ll need a letter of any size, a lot of jewelry, tin snips, and a hot glue gun. It took me 5 hours to make the first one (silver) but only 2 hours to make the second one (gold). Once you get all the jewelry cut up and figure out the design, it’s incredibly easy and zero crafting skills are required. {{wink}} Simply cut up the jewelry with the tin snips and hot glue onto the letter. That’s it!
You can hang it directly onto any wall or frame it like I did with the silver one. You can also go as elaborate or as simple as you’d like and use any size letter. This would make a gorgeous homemade gift idea. Keep it in mind for birthday presents this next year.

I would like the letter K for my daughter Kristina. K’s are always hard to find and this would be extra special to hang in her room. She is changing her room now to a black and white Paris theme to make it her escape world as she is dealing with my catching cancer. This would help make her room more special.
Oh, this is fantastic! What a great idea to combine bling and monograms. I’d love a black letter C — C for my last name, and black is the accessory colour in my living room.
Thanks for posting this great how-to and hosting the give-away.
Happy New Year!
Ashley.
Okay- I love, love, love IT! i have been looking for a way to make something chic, vintage with a little twist for my girly, girly guest room, and this is it. Thanks for your generous tutorial- sharing your amazing idea! I’m going to do one for my business in small letters to frame and display, I think it will really be an eYe CaTcheR for all those flea market gypsy JunKers. Happy New Year!!!!
I love this idea!! The red and black “C” Is my favorite. I would put it in my room because my bed is satin red and black and it would finish off my flirty chic look.
I am getting married in June and my new last name will start with an O! This would be so neat to hang in our new apartment! I would hang it in my dining room to match the red, black, and silver theme! Beautiful work!
