Today I’m showcasing my favorite DIY decor tutorial that I’ve done all year. It’s a broken jewelry letter craft that I made for Charming Charlie (an accessory store).
This was really the coolest opportunity as I’m a huge fan of Charming Charlie. For me, they are the go-to-place for inexpensive accessories. Since I have all boys, the only person I have to dress up is myself! {{sad but true}} Since the Charming Charlie store organizes their accessories by color – it’s the easiest place for me to buy my accessories.
Watch my video for all the details on how to use broken jewelry to embellish this wood letter.

As featured on CharmingCharlie.com – This DIY decor project gives you an opportunity to use your outdated jewelry, non-functional jewelry, sentimental jewelry, jewelry you received as a gift (but would not wear), and other jewelry odds and ends.
Craft ~ Broken Jewelry Letter
For the complete tutorial on how to make this gorgeous blinged out monogram you can watch my video or head on over to the Charming Charlie blog with all the specifics.

You’ll need a letter of any size, a lot of jewelry, tin snips, and a hot glue gun. It took me 5 hours to make the first one (silver) but only 2 hours to make the second one (gold). Once you get all the jewelry cut up and figure out the design, it’s incredibly easy and zero crafting skills are required. {{wink}} Simply cut up the jewelry with the tin snips and hot glue onto the letter. That’s it!
You can hang it directly onto any wall or frame it like I did with the silver one. You can also go as elaborate or as simple as you’d like and use any size letter. This would make a gorgeous homemade gift idea. Keep it in mind for birthday presents this next year.

What a great idea! I’d like a letter L to put in our family room. I’m currently working on a family photo wall and this would be a great addition!
I am a newlywed and would love a “R” for my new last name. What a great idea!
I’d love one as a dear special friend was suddenly diagnosed with melanoma of the brain. They gave her 3 months to live, she lived 6 and went thru horrible pain, discomfort from the chemo and radiation along with the pain in her brain. She LOVED jewelry and before her death, she gave me a few precious pieces. I wear them in rememberance of her and think of when I saw them on her. I also think of all the wonderful, special, kind and loving things she did not only for me but for others. Always she would have a smile on her face and ended up encouraging all that would visit her in her last days. Both of us were lovers of jewelry and we often commented and complimented each other on our pieces. I would want an S as her name was Scarlette and I would hang in in my bedroom as I have it done in a ‘scarlette’ color.
thank you,
Maggie
I would absolutely LOVE a letter G for my mother in law. We are both constantly buying any and all monogrammed G’s for each other. We both are running out of room, but I’m pretty sure we could make room by moving some around. It would be perfect on the mantle, so everyone could see it just walking in!!!!!!!!!!!
This is beautiful! I would chose the letter “K” for my daughter. She is the love is our lives and I can’t imagine my life without her.
