12 Countdown to Christmas Calendars {tutorials}

Countdown the days until Christmas using these festive count down calendar patterns.  These pictured tutorials show you how to make your own Christmas Day countdown that your family will enjoy using together as a yearly Christmas holiday tradition.

1.  Christmas Advent Shoe Organizer~  This super advent calendar holds lots of treats and is quite easy to make.  You only need a handful of supplies including a shoe organizer, the free countdown downloads provided, clothespins, spray paint, and card stock.  It looks fabulous, don’t you think?

2.  DIY Magnetic Advent Calendar ~  This tutorial comes with a free printable for the numbers and all that’s left to do is gather your supplies.  Modge Podge lovers will love making this magnetic advent calendar.

3.  Advent Calendar ~ This lovely advent calendar uses muslin spice bags that can be filled with a treat or craft to count down to Christmas. I love that they can be re-used year after year.

4.  12 days of Christmas Advent Calendar ~ Pottery Barn inspired, this advent calendar is constructed of a pin board covered by linen.  The actual pin board can be used year round so it plays double duty.  And, it only cost $6 to make!

5.  Advent Calendar Tree ~  The key to this beautiful advent calendar tree is picking colour palette and patterns that are complimentary, festive and will look fabulous together.  The tutorial includes instructions for making the cones, tags and birds, and even how to assemble the branches.  Amazing.

6.   Simple Drawstring Bag Count Down ~ To make better use of the space The first 12 days of the countdown are stamped on the front and the remaining 13-24 days are stamped on the reverse of the bag.

7.  Tree Advent Calendar Banner ~ This simple tree advent calendar was made with a simple triangle template, scraps of paper and painted on numbers.  You can put  notes, scriptures, or thoughts on the back of each tree to count down to Christmas Day.

8. Advent Calendar Trees ~ This fun Christmas tree advent calendar is a great craft that will not only make a beautiful decoration, but an easy way to let little ones know how many more days they have to wait until Christmas morning.  I just love the cone shaped trees.

9.  DIY Count Down Calendar ~  This lovely advent calendar is a bit time consuming but worth it. It uses a painted canvas as a base, and clothes pins embellished with cutouts from a Silhouette Cameo.  Activities to do were put on the back of the numbered tags.

10.  The Lazy Mom’s DIY Advent Calendar ~ A quick craft for making a Countdown to Christmas calendar with items you probably already have on hand.  It uses a muffin tin and takes only 15 minutes to make.

11.  Pennant Advent Calendar  ~ This calendar is designed to look like festive holiday bunting, and each of the 25 pennant triangles is a fully lined, button enclosed pouch, perfect for small presents or candy.  This isn’t a tutorial but it’s so darling I couldn’t resist showing it to you.

12.   Dollar Store Advent Calendar ~ Here is a creative idea for an advent calendar using Dollar Tree pails and a large board. This is perfect for larger gift ideas instead of a small pocket.
