Mom Blog to Money Blog Review ~ Day 7
I can not tell you how many times a day I get asked questions on how to make money with a blog.  It breaks my heart that I can’t clone myself to give everyone a one-on-one consultation or respond to every email or notification I receive.  Therefore, I sat down for 4 weeks and wrote everything I know about blogging in this course, Mom Blog to Money Blog.
It’s an online workshop with a one-time membership fee, which is a one year membership, no strings attached, and no hidden fees.  It’s straight from my heart spilling all my secrets, with 16 printable checklists, and 21 how-to video’s.  My hope was to make you feel like I was right there next to you and walking you through the process.  {hugs}
So, are you ready to  get paid for your talent and writing writing and bring home the bacon?  I’ll show you how.  {{click the links for more info.}}
DAY 7: Create a Posting Schedule!
Day Seven’s focus in the Mom Blog to Money Blog Online Workshop is on the posting, or editorial schedule. Â Your content does matter, Â and realizing the importance of one was a game changer for me on Tip Junkie! Â Planning is essential, plain and simple. Â With a 12 month editorial calendar, you can not only have a clear vision for the year, but also see where you have holes and potential “piles”. Â Today I teach you how to make an editorial calendar with a video and template. Â I’m all about success, baby! {{wink}}
Dukes & Duchesses ~ Review of Day 7
Randi is the author and creator of Dukes and Duchesses.  She’s a craft/DIY blogger living in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.  She’s a stay-at-home mom of five who loves strong coffee, the color orange, and all things creative.  Randi started Dukes and Duchesses as a way to share life in her family.  It slowly evolved into a DIY blog that showcases creativity in many forms {knitting, sewing, party planning, and home decor} and shares a glimpse of life in her family of seven.
“I learned the importance of listing my most popular posts!”
I learned the importance of listing my most popular posts in a place that readers can easily find. I have a project gallery tab at the top of my blog where I’ve compiled posts that receive lots of page views or posts that I think tell the reader more about who I am and what my blog is about. I also have categories listed along the right sidebar where readers can click once and see post after post related to a certain topic {like knitting or sewing}. Having popular posts easily accessible means readers are more likely to spend increased time on my site and check out more than one page while they’re there {which makes me and my analytics very happy}.
Can you have too much repetition in a posting schedule?
Question for Laurie
: Â Can you ever have too much topic repetition in a posting schedule?
Answer by Laurie: Â Absolutely, Randi! An editorial calendar should not be redundant by covering the exact same topics over and over again. Why? Your readers will get bored and your blog will be limited on the number of SEO terms search engines {like Google} can index.
Think of it this way, every time you say yes to one thing ~ you are saying no to many other things. Just as in life, this is true with your blog topics {and editorial calendar}.
You only have 365 days in a year, which means if you post once a day, you are limited to the number of topics you can cover. This is really important to understand because sure your top 10 posts {or top 10 topics} are bringing in the majority of your page views. However, it’s what you’re NOT blogging about where you’re missing out on some really great page views, passive income opportunities, as well as sponsored post campaigns.
This is why planning out your editorial calendar is so important. Whether you plan out 1 month to 12 months at a time, you will be able to quickly look and see where the gaps are in your topics.
In my opinion, your editorial calendar for each month should include:
- * Your Top 10 post topics {found in Google Analytics}
- * Marketing posts like sign up for your RSS feed, have readers ask you questions on your Facebook page, and tell your readers how to add your blog button to their sidebar.
- * At least one topic from each of your blog categories. {you created this on Day 1 with the Blog Navigation Bar checklist} http://momblogmoneyblog.com/category-navigation-bar/
We go into great detail about this in Day 7 of the Mom Blog Money Blog online workshop as we learn how to create a posting schedule.

This is such a great post. Not only is there enough information to make this post useful on its own but it certainly sells the course.
My blog was only recently started, and is still in the early phases. However, we’re already giving a lot of thought to its future. When the time comes I’ll have to look into this course.
