I thought that this program was a program that many of my readers would be excited about as well since so many of you are sewers and quilters and have such huge hearts. Â Just think of the good we could do individually and collectively if we all got involved! Â {{high fives!}}
3 Ways to Get Involved:
- Fabrics should be brightly colored and kid-friendly.
- Fabric must be “new,” unused and not clothing/draperies/etc.
- If you donÂ’t have your own fabric, you can visit the Quilts for Kids website  and request a free quilt kit.  I love that the kit contains a label which can help you share the story of your quilt with the child itÂ’s delivered to.  I was given the quilt kit and will be posting a tutorial next week on how to make the quilt.  It’s a simple pattern and a beginner sewer can tackle this project in a few hours.  {Stay tuned!}
- If youÂ’re a more advanced quilter, you can download the pattern for the official Downy Touch of Comfort quilt!
2. Â If you donÂ’t quilt, you can make a direct donation to Quilts for Kids, Inc.
3. Â You can also find out how to contact your local Quilts for Kids, Inc. chapter to get directly involved .
Coming Up:
- Look for my Easy-to-Sew Quilt Tutorial here on Tip Junkie! Â I’ll show you how easy it is to get involved with a tutorial using the Quilts for Kids Kit.
- Learn more about the Downy Touch of Comfort program by watching an upcoming behind-the-scenes video of spokesperson Chandra Wilson participating in a quilt delivery at Montefiore Children’s Hospital in the Bronx. Coming soon!
- Giveaway: Â I’ll be giving away an amazing assortment of material {giveaway} so that a Tip Junkie reader (or two) can choose to make quilts to donate to sick children needing “touches of comfort” at the hospital.
IÂ’m so honored that this amazing Downy Touch of Comfort awareness series on Tip Junkie is being sponsored! They sent me the kit for the quilt for the upcoming tutorial and it’s fantastic!
