Mom Blog to Money Blog Review ~ Day 21
I can not tell you how many times a day I get asked questions on how to make money with a blog. It breaks my heart that I can’t clone myself to give everyone a one-on-one consultation or respond to every email or notification I receive. Therefore, I sat down for 4 weeks and wrote everything I know about blogging in this course, Mom Blog to Money Blog.
It’s an online workshop with a one-time membership fee, which is a one year membership, no strings attached, and no hidden fees. It’s straight from my heart spilling all my secrets, with 16 printable checklists, and 21 how-to video’s. My hope was to make you feel like I was right there next to you and walking you through the process. {hugs}
So, are you ready to get paid for your talent and writing writing and bring home the bacon? Ill show you how. {{click the links for more info.}}
DAY 21: GENERATE TRAFFIC, STATUS, AND INCOME USING GIVEAWAYS!
Day Twenty One’s focus in the Mom Blog to Money Blog is how to generate traffic, status and income using giveaways. Using blog giveaways as a strategy to build page views, reward readers, and even generate income can be an effective one and overall pretty easy. It is a simple concept: You offer a prize to your readers ~ they enter to win by leaving a comment on your blog. There’s is a little more to it than that, but don’t worry, I discuss all the pros and cons and offer 3 printable checklists that will make offering giveaways really easy! {{wink}}

“I learned that giveaways can be a win/win situation!”
I learned that giveaways teach new readers that my goal is do to something on their behalf. That is, I will constantly negotiate and go out of my way for them and they don’t really have to do much in return (just comment to enter to win). Giveaways can be a win/win situation!
How do you turn “one stop” giveaway entry readers into regular readers?
Question for Laurie: How do I turn “one stop” giveaway entry readers into regular readers and keep them coming back for everyday content?
Answer by Laurie: As you learned in Day 21 ‘Generate Traffic, Status, and Income Using Giveaways‘ it’s important to have one main goal as well as a secondary goal when hosting a giveaway. I’ve even given you a checklist to make it easier. {high fives} Generally, hosting a giveaway on your blog is a simple concept: You offer a prize to your readers ~ they enter to win by leaving a comment on your blog. However, over the past 7 years this concept has been manipulated, complicated, and turned into a popularity contest. {yuck!} Just like Tip Junkie, you genuinely want to promote women and great products which enrich your life. As a blogger you are in the unique position of giving away some great products to reward your readers. However, your loyal readers are already rewarded and enriched by your incredible content. So, they aren’t loyal for the giveaways, they’re loyal because of you. {hugs}
In it’s basic nature, giveaways do not encourage loyal readers or quality content. Let’s face it, they attract people who want something for free with nothing in return. Giveaways teach new readers that you will constantly negotiate and put out on their behalf and they don’t really have to do much. So with that in mind ~ make sure that the one thing they must do to enter to win ~ promotes YOU {not Facebook} as well as accomplishes your main goal for putting all your time into hosting the giveaway in the first place.
If you can accomplish your main goal 100% of the time with each giveaway, then it doesn’t matter if these readers become loyal or not. I would also encourage every blogger to stop focusing on the number of entries for each giveaway! It’s not about the number of entires… it’s about your main goal. Don’t get sidetracked or caught up in the popularity contest that is only happening in your head. {said lovinginly, of course} In my opinion, using 3rd party software like Rafflecopter is all a ruse and created to manipulate readers into making bloggers look more popular than they actually are. Do your readers a favor and keep your giveaways simple and easy which only serve your main goal for your blog, the main goal for the giveaway, as well as it’s secondary purpose. This is your recipe for success! It’s tried and true.
