I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}

Word of My Year: AXIS
Because…we need to be aware of our center, our core. Most of us understand this idea by referring to heart and soul. Our awareness(s) have become faded and self-consumed. A strong axis provides the support for movement and an axis can create a dividing line. We need good good virtuous strength, good character, good hearts…and we need our dividing lines to separate, to protect and to find rest. Then sometimes an axis will tilt to help movement. I want to remind myself this year that within strength it is important for me to bend and be movable so that others can also move.
Blessing to you this New Year, Junkie.
Yvonne
Enjoy!
My word for 2010 was “Better” – and it was such a perfect for me and my goals. This year I want to “enjoy” the changes I made last year to be “better.”
My word of the year is HOPE. My family has gone through difficult times the last ten years. I was always hopeful things would be better—they are!! Love your blog
Progress…lots I want to do this year. 🙂
