I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}

My word is cherish. I wished away too many small moments this past year in pursuit of the next best thing. I realized this month that the best things were already all around me.

More word of the year is strong. My husband is deploying and I am left to hold down the fort. I have to stay strong and not break down and not let things fall to shambles while he is gone. And I have to be mentally strong, which is the hardest part, but remember that he is so much stronger than I am!

My word this year is {simple}.
Super excited to see where this takes me!

I’ve been trying to narrow it down for weeks! I keep coming back to these words

My word this year is connect. So many ways in my life to strengthen connections… with family, friends, God, my community… to connect with myself and through my photography.
