I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}

After much thought…my word for 2011 is….*drumroll please*….GIFT.
Looking around at my family tonight at dinner….I had this overwhelming full heart of love….what a “gift” they are. So I would like to approach each day this year as a “gift.” We all get excited to see a fancy gift wrapped up with our name on it {no matter the contents inside we always have that warm feeling that it was picked out specifically for us}, open it up and get totally ecstatic or a little deflated, either way we put a smile on our face and say thank you. So GIFT…..each day: to wake up excited at what God has planned {no matter what might be thrown my way} and say thank you; family; friends; and the best “gifts” of all….grace and Jesus Christ.
serenity, that is what I would like for 2011. And I am going to do my darndest to make it happen!!
Trust. This is something very hard to do when it’s been broken, but I’m determined to work on this, this year.
I chose three words this year:
Pray
Eat
Love
