I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}

My word is ACCEPT. I have spent the better part of my adult life unhappy w/ my weight, trying (with good intentions) to “fix” things, spending too much time trying to make all my creative endeavors “perfect”, etc. I want to learn to accept the fact that I am who I am for a purpose, and that the only person or situation that I can “fix” is my attitude about myself, and my reaction to that which is happening around me. Life is too short! Accept each day as a gift and make the best of it!
My word is “today” as a reminder not to get overwhelmed by life. I may need to do a lot of work to get to where I want to be, but I need to just focus on what I can do TODAY. Do what I can now, and live for now.
“Cherish” … I have so many blessings in my life. I want to hold those things precious to me close to my heart and cherish them always!
My word is “LESS” Less me, Less junk, Less clutter.
Today. My word is about action today (vs. sitting on my hiney), and enjoying today. Don’t wait for tomorrow – do it today.
