Hey Ladies!! I’ve missed you dearly and want to give you a quick update on my health. My surgery was a success and I’m recovering well. {{knock on wood}}
I had a herniated (ruptured) disc in my back, L5 S1, and therefore underwent Discectomy and Laminectomy surgery. The doctors found a bone spur that was causing the additional pain I was experiencing with my sciatic nerve running down my left leg.
Right now all is well, I can’t bend or twist which makes life a bit challenging. I’m either completely horizontal or completely vertical because it still hurts too much to sit. However, I’m so grateful to be on the road to recovery and will start physical therapy soon.
I want to thank you for your prayers, comments, and e-mails. They mean so much to me and keep me motivated to keep Tip Junkie going during this challenging time.
I hope that you’ve been inspired by some of my favorite bloggers the past 2 weeks. I’m so grateful for their friendship and just knew that they would bring fresh and fabulous tips that you would all enjoy. {{hugs to them}}
Please bear with me the next couple months as I continue to heal. Life has come to a complete halt for me and I have to constantly keep myself at a snails pace not to re-injure my body.
I have big plans for Tip Junkie and there will be new features with the Mom-preneur Shops as well as the blog layout. So stay tuned!
I’m looking forward to an amazing year full of new ideas and fun surprises. Thank you for being apart of it!
xoxo
P.S. Don’t forget to check out the Mom-preneur Shops, your gifts are going to Shine in 2009!!
So glad you’re back and on the mend, Laurie! Take care of yourself!

I am with Rachael and her comment, my surgery was 3 years ago, same as you L5 S1! I will tell you I am so glad I did the surgery, it is amazing to be free from the pain that existed before. I still have my moments, but that is a reminder for me to slow down and or be more body conscious as to my body mechanics and what or how I am doing something.
I am thrilled to see your smiling face and know know know that you are going to do amazing in your recovery process.
Know that there are lots of great prayers, great vibes and great thoughts surrounding you each and every step of the way.
(think Tony Little the Glider exercise guy…..) YOU CAN DOOOOOO IT! 🙂
Be good to you – it’s just life happenin where you are, the rest is just details!
OOOOoooo that’s a painful surgery! I’m a nurse and I’ve taken care of many people with that same surgery, and, well, lets just say I don’t envy ya there! Glad you’re feeling better though!
Thinking about you Laurie and hope you are feeling 100% real soon!!
