14 Joyous Christmas Countdown Calendars

Advent calendars are my favorite way to countdown to Christmas!   Here are some of the best Christmas DIY advent calendars I could find online!  I absolutely love having the tradition of a Christmas countdown calendar with my family.

1.  DIY Punch Box Advent Calendar ~ Who wouldn’t have fun punching out a prize everyday to countdown to Christmas?  You can choose to fill it with candy or small toys, or make it more personal with ideas of holiday activities or service projects that you can do together as a family.

2.  DIY Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Countdown ~ Counting down the days to Christmas? You can do it with a little bit of fun with this super easy toilet paper countdown.  Your child will enjoy punching out the numbers to the anticipated day!  

3.  Burlap Advent Calendar {no sew} ~ Ready to start the count down until Christmas? Get the whole family involved and make your own advent calendar. It’s a simple project to make using burlap ribbon, ribbon, twine and a hot glue gun.

4.  Christmas Advent Calendar Wall Chart {free printables} ~ Kristine was inspired by her favorite things, “wall charts, chalkboards, typography and bakers twine” when she made this beautiful advent calendar.

6.  Clothes Hanger Count Down ~ This shabby chic count down calendar is so simple to make and will look gorgeous on display.  It’s made with jute string, brown and white paper bags, scraps of lace, a clothes hanger, old buttons and a few white paper tags.

7.  Envelope Advent Calendar ~ This fun Christmas envelope advent calendar is a great craft that will not only make a beautiful decoration, but an easy way to let little ones know how many more days they have to wait until Christmas morning.  Each envelope contains an activity to do for the day.

8.  DIY Freebie Advent Calendar ~ These lunch sack packages tied with string are simple yet so pretty. Use the free printable to easily decorate and number the bags.  Hang them from twine from a mantle or wall.

9.  Count Down Calendar Treat Bag Kits {Christmas Printable} ~ Here is a great Christmas countdown printable! It’s available in red or green.  All you have to do is download, print, assemble and stuff with treats! Your kiddos will love receiving a treat every day until the big man in red comes!

10.  DIY Santa Christmas Countdown ~ Looking for a great way to countdown to Christmas with the kids? This free printable is just the thing.  Add a cotton wool ball for every day to make Santa’s beard, on the last day the beard will be made and Santa will be arriving the next morning. Promotes counting and is also chocolate free and a lot of fun to do!

13.  DIY Chicken Wire Countdown ~ Turn a chicken wire frame into a fun and rustic Christmas countdown by adding a simple countdown banner.

14.  Rustic Advent Tree with Bags ~ Want a cute way to hide treats for the kiddos each day? Nail this together and slap some paint on and you have just the thing!
