The staff here at Tip Junkie loves us a Krispy Kreme doughnut! Â {snicker} So, when they asked if we wanted to take a peek into their company, we couldn’t resist! As you’d expect, from start to finish the two day trip into the Krispy Kreme world was a total sensory experience. As soon as one walks into their facility the smell of fresh doughnuts permeates the air; good thing doughnuts were offered at every turn!
The company just celebrated 75 years in the doughnut business with an original recipe that hasn’t changed in those 75 years! In fact, if you happen to be in one of the 21 countries Krispy Kreme happens to be in, stop in and enjoy a hot fresh original glazed. Â {wink}
If you know Krispy Kreme, you know about their iconic “HOT NOW” sign. When you stop in to get one of the nearly 12,000 doughnuts that are produced a day in a Krispy Kreme store you are in for a treat! The hot off the line doughnut is another reason to love this brand, but if you don’t make it in time for the hot now light to be on, your doughnut can be perfectly hot again with just a 8 second spin in your microwave! {one of my favorite take away tips!} You can even download the hot now app to make sure you alway know when to stop in to get that perfectly hot bite! {score}
Have you tried their three new coffee blends? They were recently launched and as with everything at Krispy Kreme, their goal is that this coffee is worthy of the amazing doughnuts it is commonly paired with. Take a recommended “slurp” of coffee first, which will spark your taste buds, followed by a bit of the doughnut. A helpful resource they have is a coffee doughnut pairing card, where you learn which coffee blend to pair with what doughnut at which time of dayÂ… sort of like wine pairing!

Yep. There’s a Krispy Kreme near us… and I have to pass Krispy Kreme headquarters to get to it. We live about 12min away from the Krispy Kreme there on Stratford road in Winston-Salem. Having Trader Joes across the street from it makes it a double threat now. 🙂
