Playtex Baby Luncheon
For a while now, I have been wanting to create a “New Mommy Boot Camp” booklet with worksheets and advice for pregnant and new moms. {It’s on the to-do list, promise.}Â So when Playtex Baby contacted me and asked me to host a luncheon with my friends who are pregnant or are new mommies to discuss these exact topics, I was so excited!
Feeding Advice for The Mother To Be
Not only did I get to use my Easter dinner decor once more {squeal} but we got to share our words-of-wisdom and really bond being a mom. Thanks to all the amazing information Playtex Baby sent over, I learned a lot as well!
- Babies have a natural suck-swallow-breathe feeding rhythm.
- Gas, colic and spit-up are some of the most common feeding challenges that new moms face when feeding their babies. {um, yes!}
So what’s the solution? How does the Playtex Baby Drop-Ins Bottle System help with these issues? Well, I found out!
- It is clinically shown to deliver an experience that mimics breastfeeding.
- It is pre-sterilized, disposable, soft liners that collapse like the breast as the baby feeds.
- As the liner collapses air is kept from mixing with the milk, which keeps it out of babies’ tummies, to help reduce gas, colic and spit up.

We also shared our own advice that we would give new moms or the mother to be:
- Start a routine from the very beginning. If a “to-do” list helps, make a list for the day even if it only has 2 things on it. {hugs and kisses} This way you’ll enjoy the satisfaction on checking it off and feeling more productive.
- Get ready everyday to create your own “new normal” routine with your baby.
- Get out of the house once a day. Even if it’s in the car while you’re still in your jammies!
- Find time for yourself in someway. Whether it is leaving the house or a hot bath or spending a few minutes each day with a book.
- Run the dishwasher every night. Empty it every morning first thing, and you have somewhere to put your dirty dishes all day. What a difference this has made!
- Don’t worry about things you can’t control.

I love how my two and a half year old son is becoming bi-lingual. Well, he’s been this way his whole life, exposed to two/three languages (granny and gramps speak another Chinese dialect) and it’s so easy for him to just pick up the languages we speak (English and Chinese). His Mandarin is getting better than mine!
Anyone who is thinking of raising their kids this way, I’d say go for it. It may take them longer to start speaking (but not always)…my son only spoke 20 words at age two but after that his vocab took off! And they’ll mix the languages but as they get older they’ll get it.
I love all the blessings that come with it!! Seeing all their “firsts” and having someone love you with all they have!
I am so very excited to be having a little girl next month!!! It is fun trying to keep up with my toddler, the best thing is watching him learn new things!!
I have 2 boys ages 5 and 3 and we are welcoming our 3rd in December. It’s is so hard to put in words why I love being a mom! There’s just a love for children like no else. My favorite time of day is when both boys crawul up in my lap to cuddle it’s the best!
I love morning cuddle time! Gives us a chance to talk about things that sometimes we don’t get a chance to.
