I totally played with Power Rangers as a kid with my brothers. A few years ago my mother gave me several boxes of my brothers toys {{shhh don’t tell}} and my boys loved playing with the “vintage” power ranger action figures. The toys brought back some fun memories.
Well, did you know that the Power Rangers are back? Yep, they have a new cast and a new value oriented show. With a new look and a new network, Power Rangers: Samurai debuted this week!
You can catch the show on Sundays at noon on Nickelodeon and it repeats on Saturdays at noon. Along with the show the emPOWER Movement has launched this month.
Nickelodeon
The emPOWER Movement is positive and fun, emphasizing kids’ strengths and potential,
and providing kids and parents with accessible resources.
Power Rangers
The emPOWER Movement provides parents and kids the tools they need to work together. emPOWER encourages participation in schools, online and in local communities to demonstrate the Power Rangers values:
- Standing for What’s Right
- Teamwork and Cooperation
- Confidence
- Health and Physical Fitness
- Caring and Friendship
All of which are values that are important to me and my family! Raising my boys with a high self-esteem and an active lifestyle can be really challenging. Especially, with mature X-box games being all the rage.
emPower your Child
Nominate your child for the “Ranger of the Week“! Every week the emPOWER website will feature a young person who’s making a difference in their family, school, or community. It will feature the ranger of the week’s photo and a story to inspire kids, parents, and teachers about how kids are making a difference. {{very cool}}
Huge thanks to Barbara from One2One Network for the heads up on this amazing program from
the Power Rangers and Nickelodeon.

When I was a kid, I used to watch this and I always had a great time watching theri super powers. I was wishing I have mine too. Very adorable and I wish I could wear the yellow costume like that. My childhood dream. Thinking what my future kids like in a lot of cartoon character that they will see in their time 😀

I am glad they are back, my 5 year old loves the originals. My husband was even lucky enough to find a red power ranger costume for him for Halloween.
