There are people that are born with freckles. As they grow older the appearance of these freckles may be reduced. While freckles are fine for younger children many adults feel self conscious of their freckles. There are ten ways to reduce the appearance of freckles that are not only effective but safe as well.
10. Juice Mixtures
There are some juices that can naturally lighten the skin and remove dark spots such as freckles. Parsley juice can be mixed with red current juice, orange juice, and lemon juice in equal parts. This mixture is then applied to the skin. Within a matter of weeks the freckles will become less noticeable as they disappear.
9. Bleaching Creams
If a person has really dark freckles they may need something that is a little bit stronger. That is where bleaching creams come into play. Bleaching creams will help face the skin as well as the freckles. Be careful when using these types of creams. They may bring more attention to the freckles at first so be sure to start off small to make sure you do not have a negative reaction to the cream.
8. Stay out of the Sun
While a little sun is good for the skin too much sunlight is not a good thing. Exposure to the sun can not only increase a person’s risk for cancer but it can make the freckles stand out. Even though people do tan the freckles will also get darker. When trying to reduce the appearance of freckles take measures to keep direct sunlight off of the face.
7.IPL Treatment
This type of treatment will help reduce the appearance of freckles. Some people may need up to six treatments that are performed once every three weeks. Be sure to speak to the dermatologists about this skin lightening treatment. Each session will last only about 20 minutes. Once the treatments are done the freckles should not be visible any longer.
6. Laser Treatments
If a person has a large amount of freckles they may consider laser treatment. That is another option that will have to be performed by a dermatologist. Lasers will be used to remove the top layer of the skin where the freckles are found. This treatment is effective but may present some side effects.
5. Retinoids
This treatment is available by prescription only. It is safe and effective in removing freckles and will not damage the skin around the freckles. Be sure to see a doctor first for the prescription.
4. Use Lemon Juice
Lemon juice will help naturally bleach the skin. This juice can be applied directly to the freckles and then rubbed into the skin. The juice should be allowed to stay on the skin. If the lemon juice is causing a burning sensation only leave it on for a couple of minutes until the body is able to adjust. Within a matter of weeks the freckles will be less noticeable.
3. Use Vitamin C
Vitamin C capsules can be opened and the vitamin can be applied directly to the freckles. Eating a diet rich in Vitamin C will help the skin tolerate the sun and make freckles less noticeable. This may take a couple of weeks to see changes but this treatment is effective.
2. Go Sour
Sour cream can help reduce the appearance of freckles. Sour cream should be applied to the skin and allowed to set for a couple of minutes. It is then wiped off with a tissue. A little bit of moisturizer can then be applied to the skin. The skin will not dry out and over time the freckles will go away.
1. Honey
Honey and water can be mixed together and heated up in the microwave. This mixture is applied to the skin and will set in a few minutes. The honey can then be washed off with warm water. This should be done several times a day for a few weeks. Honey will keep the skin soft while reducing the appearance of freckles.
These are some ways to get rid of freckles. If a person is feeling self conscious about their skin due to freckles they can reduce their appearance in a matter of weeks. There is nothing wrong with freckles but if a person does not like them they can be removed.
