Making these cute American Flag Origami hearts is addictive. We use them as toothpick toppers for bringing snacks to Fourth of July or Memorial Day picnics. They really make your food stand out. They are also great for quick origami projects and decorations for Flag Day, Constitution Day, Presidents Day, etc.

Cut paper into strips lengthwise.
Fold the end into a triangle. Continue folding the way people typically fold and American Flag at a ceremony.
With the end, fold it such that the whole shape is like a rooftop.
Tuck the end into the pocket.
Bend the longest side in with your thumb.
Cut the corners to be rounded.
Voila! You are finished. To use with food, add a toothpick by pushing through the bottom and adding some glue.
