Cat in the Hat Trunk or Treat

This was my super simple Cat in the Hat trunk for Trunk-or-Treat at my daughter’s school.

Supplies:

Cat in the Hat fabric and red/white stripe fabric
Dr. Seuss books
Handmade kite (made from cardstock)
Dr. Seuss bulletin board kit (I purchased 2 different bulletin board kits at our local teacher supply store)
boxes (I covered them with fabric to make a display)
small fishbowl
blue tissue paper

I dressed as Cat in the Hat, so of course, my trunk had to match my costume. I had most of the supplies on hand and only had to purchase the cut outs (bulletin board kit) from the teacher supply store. I assembled the Dr. Seuss fish in the fish bowl using a clear fish bowl (or something similar) by filling the bottom with blue tissue paper to resemble water. I printed off the Dr. Seuss fish on cardstock and cut it out and used a small glue dot to make it appear as it is hanging out of the fish bowl. I won the decorating contest!
