I love the written word. I have been creating key words from our everyday trash. We all have cardboard floating around from parcels etc and we all have unused unwanted fabric from old clothing or bedding etc….dont trash them…create striking art to complement any room size, style or colour!

You Will Need...
- cardboard
- Scissors
- clue
- double sided sticky tape
- old fabric
- wool, embroidery silk if you want stitching
- beads if you want to add those
- Ribbon if you want to hang them, rather than attach them to the wall hidden
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Decide on the size of you lettering, and the amount of letters required in that word. Then divide the cardboard into equal sections to suit. Then choose your style of lettering..i went for a simple print, as this was a rush job done around christmas to keep me sane between visitors!Next draw on the the cardboard the letters and cut them out.I used old material i had in the house, my husbands old shirts, clothes the children had out grown, damaged clothing, etcI covered the face of the letters in clue and attached the fabric..making sure i had 10mm left over around the edges to carefully fold around the back to make a clean design.I preferred using double sided tape on the back edges to fold the trim onto.On some of the words I added a wool run stitch to the edges of the letters. On some other words I added some beading to highlight letter spaces such as in the capital letter A.To hang- For some I attached a small peice of string which would not be noticeable from the frount, and hung them on tacks, for others I used long ribbon for an added rustic feel!Depending on the word and these are easily completed and hung within half an hour! The cost? Nothing!
