You Will Need...
- bottle
- lamp kit ( $5 )
- diamond drill bit ( $15 )
- clip on lamp shade ( $3 )
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Drill a hole on the backside close to the base of the bottle with the diamond bit. Running water over the bit is recommended. Also safety equipment (eye goggles and leather gloves) is a must before attempting this craft project!
Step 2
Install the lamp kit into the bottle by removing the on/off switch and splicing the cord. Reconnect the cord and assemble the switch.
Step 3
Use a clip on chandelier shade that can attach to the light bulb.
Step 4
The lamp shade can be painted or customized to match the bottle. Also removing the labels and filling the bottle with gems makes for a more “classy” lamp in my opinion.

I made one of these, ..BUT,..I had a pint bottle of Crown Royal Apple, green label. Being crafty and creative, (yeah right) I mixed modge podge and green food color to match the label on the bottle. I poured it into my bottle, swirled it around to cover all the inside of the bottle, emptied the excess, and baked it in my oven for 15-20 minutes at 200 degrees. It came out perfect,!!, matched my label to a “T”.I then made a custom shade to match the label, drilled my hole, put my string of mini lights in, and viola !!, I had the most perfect night light. I sold it for $65.00.! (Buyer dropped and broke it the next day. Got my battery operated lights at Hobby Lobby for $4.95) The bottle of C.R. was a gift. I use modge podge and food color for any and everything. Total cost of lamp: Less than six bucks.

At Home Depot you can buy brown or white kits. The brown kits are 4.95 and the white kits are 5.95 in the lighting department.

I buy lamp kits all the time at Home Depot and there are no $5 dollar lamp kits. If there were I woul buy a bunch of them.
