How to Make a Javelin Throw with Pool Noodles

Create a fun outdoor game for kids like this javelin throw game out of pool noodles! First you make the rings and then use duct tape to secure together. You can hang them from trees as a Javelin throw or lay on the ground as an agility course.

You Will Need...

6 pool noodles
2 thick pool noodles
Duct tape
Cardstock {or empty toilet paper rolls}
Toothpicks
E-6000 Glue

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

To make the pool noodle ring ~ Place four toothpicks into one end of a pool noodle.
Step 2

Fold cardstock almost in half. Roll tight. Place inside the pool noodle.
Step 3

Pool noodle ring ~ Fail! If you don’t fold the cardstock in half, then the ring won’t be a nice circle.
Step 4

Place E-6000 glue liberally onto toothpicks and the pool noodle onto one side. My experience has been that without the glue, the duct tape can’t hold the pool noodle as a ring.
Step 5

Hold the pool noodle for 2 minutes to give the glue a chance to dry.
Step 6

Duct tape to secure the pool noodle into a ring.
Step 7

To create the agility rings course ~ lay out six rings and two straight pool noodles in the pattern you want.
Step 8

Duct tape the pool noodles together in the pattern. It’s easier if you lay the duct tape under the noodle first and then wrap around.
