    Now fold the wrapping paper in half, diagonal.

  • Step 5

    Fold wrapping paper in half diagonally, a second time.

  • Step 6

    Go ahead and fold in half diagonally, a third time.

  • Step 7

    Fold in half diagonally, a fourth time. Mark the curved cut which will make the scalloped edge. {as shown in the photo}

  • Step 8

    To make the scallop edge in the place mat, cut along your
    mark” at the fold while angling down. {as shown in the photo}

  • Step 9

    This is what Step #8 will look like as you unfold it.

  • Step 10

    Unfold the paper place mat all the way. As you can see, it will have a lot of creases on it. Use this one as the template.

  • Step 11

    Using the creased version of the paper place mat as the template, trace along the scalloped edges of your template onto a large square of wrapping paper. This will make your final version of your paper place mat.
