You Will Need...
- Waxed Linen
- Crimp Beads
- Beads
- Charm (optional)
- Needle nose pliers
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Cut Waxed Linen around 14 1/2 inches long.
Step 2
Thread on a crimp bead, then thread on the charm, loop the thread back into the crimp bead and use the pliers to clamp it down. (This will secure the charm and all the other beads in place.)
Step 3
Use a crimp bead to secure your first set of beads.
Step 4
Secure by using the pliers to clamp down on a crimp bead at the end. Cut off any extra waxed linen.

I wish you had a video tutorial. I have no idea what a crimp bead is nor do I understand how to knot it. I’d love to watch you do this.
Hey Debbie ~ I made these so long ago that I don’t have a video of it. A “crimp bead” is a bead that you use needle nose plyers to squish together to crimp it closed. This way you don’t need to knot it at the end.
This was very interesting. I just started to fan out a little from making complicated necklaces and earring to making book marks, some of which look exactly like what I am seeing here. At first I was knotting the wire that I was using and it took forever to do it. After my 2nd time doing it that way I started using the crimp beads, and oh, what a difference. Less time, more fun, more ideas and different styles of bookmarks.
