Inspired From:
You Will Need...
- Plexi-Glass, Empty Fruit Tin, Oven and good covering paints, I use Gonis Products because they are non-toxic, of very high quality, they are unique, and versatile. For this project it is imperative that the paints you use are definitely non-toxic!!!
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
First start by using the Gonis Decor to make haphazard squiggles all over the top side of the plexi-glass.
Step 2
Using your finger smudge all the colours together.
Step 3
Allow to dry.
Once dry place the plexi-glass on top of the empty fruit tin on a baking tray. The painted side facing up.Step 4
Place your baking tray into a pre-heated oven at 150 Degrees Celsius.
Do not move away from the oven, you need to watch your project as depending on the thickness of your plate it could go quickly!
You will note that as soon as your plate is warm enough it will start to droop on the sides. This is when you should remove the project from the oven.
Step 5
As you can see, my oven does not heat evenly so some of the paint started to bubble whilst waiting for the other side to heat up. I don’t mind it as it will add to the overall texture and look afterwards, but if this is not wanted, turn your plate in the oven once it starts to droop.
Whilst the plate is still hot you can push and form it to your liking.
BEWARE: it can get very hot!!Step 6
Once shaped allow to cool completely.
Using Dekopointers* decorate the edges.Step 7
And there you have it.
A funky table deco that you can create to enhance any table setting for any season ๐
