Pool noodles make the best Minions! Here is an easy Minion craft that is fun for kids! They love making their own Minion(s) and then being able to play with them, too.
I used this easy game as an activity for kids at the Blue and Gold Banquet the Cub Scouts.
Materials Needed:
- Yellow & Blue Pool Noodles
- Large Eyes ~ Googly eyes or Paper
- Sharpie Marker
- Knife to cut the Pool Noodle
Craft Inspired By: Minion Blocks by Simple Play Ideas.
How to Make:
1. Cut the pool noodles to Minion size.
It’s a great idea to cut the pool noodles into Minion sizes that children can choose from. You really don’t want them in charge of cutting their own Minion size. We cut the pool noodles into about 4-5″ lengths.
2. Eyeballs.
Use a Circle punch to make paper eyeballs or use googly eyes for the Minion eyes. For paper, use white and black paper in different sizes that the kids can layer for eyeballs, or just use googly eyes. Help the children glue their eyes onto their pool noodle Minion with a hot-glue gun.
3. Decorate with a Sharpie.
Have children decorate their Minion with a Sharpie. They can draw on a mouth or whatever expressive elements that suit their fancy. They can also outline the eyes. This is a great way for them to make their very own custom Minion.
How to Play:
Once the Minions are created, the kids can play with them! Stack the noodles on top of each other (you can do blue and yellow or yellow and yellow or blue and blue. You pick the rules).
This game was a huge hit for all age groups at our Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts.
