This Spring has been a doozy for allergies, hasn’t it? Thanks to my boys allergies I’m ever mindful of dust, allergens, and bacteria in the air and even use my checklist of things to do to keep the air quality in my home as clean as possible to keep us as healthy as I can!
Since my boys health has drastically improved thanks to better air quality, I’m so excited to be participating in the Room to Breathe program sponsored by Sharp this month.
Increase Your Indoor Air Quality!
Did you know that “Poor indoor air quality can cause a range of physical and psychological symptoms?” Those headaches, itchy eyes, nose, throat, and respiratory issues can be linked to poor air quality!
When we moved from Texas to Ohio, two of my boys woke up in the morning with stuffy noses and cranky from a bad nights sleep. I thought it was the move or their pillows since their symptoms were mild. It took me a while and an allergist visit to discover it was dust mites. {who knew?}
Therefore, to improve the indoor air quality in my home I try to keep the dust down. I take most of my precautions in my boys rooms, because 2 of my sons are allergic to dust mites. It’s drastically improved my boys health, sleep patterns, and drippy noses.
Here are some of things that I do on a regular basis to increase the indoor air quality in my house.
How to Keep Home Dust Free
- 1. Dust surfaces of the home weekly
- 2. Change furnace filters every 3 months
- 3. Change air filters in air conditioners quarterly
- 4. Clean the air with air purfiers like Sharp Air Purifier {Sharp PCI Air Purifiers actively purify every corner of the room. Proven safe and effective, patented Plasmacluster® ion technology has been scientifically proven to provide cleaner, fresher air than conventional filters, killing germs, mold and odors.  Did I mention that it’s “library quiet”?}
- 5. Steam clean carpets every 6 months
- 6. Sweep and mop laminate or wood floors every week
- 7. Deep clean floors
- 8. Wipe down window seals
- 9. Catch those cobwebs!
- 10. Wipe down ceiling fans monthly
- 11. Vacuum inside my couch
- 12. Deep dust furniture and blinds
