This Teach Me Thursday we’re going to feature Kid Craft tutorials. I’ve found some really cool ones and I hope you’ll be inspired to learn something new today.
Cooking: Cami over at Full Circle did a tutorial on Pine Cone Bird feeders and I thought that would be appropriate for today’s post. Easy and fun!
Design: Here’s a Colored Glass tutorial from Hurrayic. It’s colorful and easy but messy craft for kids to use outside in the snow or freezing weather. So here’s what you can do to make your own colored ‘glass’.
Ok – so it’s totally summer instead of snowing but the kids could play with them in the water right? It was just too cool not to include.
Entertaining: Missing cooler weather already? Little Elephants made these snow globes as an activity at her daughter’s birthday party. Seriously so cool!
Entertaining: Of course Martha also has a tutorial on how to make some custom coasters for your next backyard get together.
For the Kids: Look at this cute clothes pin doll tutorial. What a unique and fun thing to do with your daughter this summer.
Gift Idea: Look at this fun Playing Card Purse tutorial. How cool would it be to make a bunch of these in Dora the Explorer cards, Princess playing cards, or Pirates of the Caribbean playing cards, and use them as gift bags for all your birthday presents this year. {{giddy}}
Scrap Craft: Anita has inspired me with this soccer album. What a great idea, especially if your child loves one specific sport. Now you’ll have a place for all those pictures you’ve taken throughout the season. Sit down and make the album together!
Sewing: Look at this! An adorable “tidey tote” for kids. It’s large enough to hold a bunch of books or softies, but small enough to use unobtrusively throughout our home. It’s so handy, it can hang on a doorknob.
JC Handmade made a step-by-step tutorial on how to make these kidlet wall pockets. This little number is fully lined, has amazing vintage fabric on the back, a loop to hang over a doorknob, a deep gusset and interfacing to hold all the “stuff” that our wee ones collect.
I’m constantly amazed at the abilities of you crafty ladies! If any of you have taken the time to post a tutorial e-mail me and I’ll feature it!

Those are adorable!! I can see making 3 or 4 of them and hanging them on pegs in my daughter’s room. Then I could sort some of her toys – like doll clothes, pretend food, dress up jewelry. Thank you for sharing such a great idea!

Thanks for posting ideas like these Laurie! I have a DS who has insisted he does not want to go to any summer camps so I need all the help I can get!

Kristin – that was my favorite too! I need one for each of my boys so they can take their own stuff upstairs and put it away.
I think I’ll make some to replace their school backpacks on my iron rack in the hallway.
