Wassail

I got such a good response to the dry Wassail recipe that I wanted to share my absolute favorite one! It takes a little bit of planning but it’s worth it. Here it is:

Wassail

1 cup Sugar to 4 cups water, boil. Then add:
10 whole cloves
8 whole allspice
2 sticks cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger

Boil 3-5 minutes and then remove from heat. Let stand 4-6 hours then strain. Then add:

1 can Orange Juice (12 oz concentrate)
1 can lemonade (6 oz concentrate)

Lastly, add 2 cans water and 1 gallon of apple cider. Warm and serve. Enjoy!

Love this! I remember drinking wassail when I was a child – vendors downtown as vendors would offer it on street corners during the holiday season – free. My how times have changed! Thank you for the recipe!

Sounds like a nice alternative to glogg. Mulled wine with schnapps, raisins and almond slivers. Might have to try wassail this w/e Thanks for sharing!
