Tip Junkie Got a Make Over!

Hey Ladies. It’s been a while since you’ve seen me and I’ve missed working with women dearly. Let’s see… what have I been up to?!? Last year we moved from Columbus, Ohio to Houston, Texas and are so happy to be back in the southern sun. I’ve been thawing out, raising teenagers, and working with a bunch of dudes trying to make Tip Junkie my dream site.

Well… that failed. Again. And Again. And Again. It turns out the 5th time is the charm. {snort} I’ve finally found some guys who can follow directions, listen to what I say, and resist the urge to do whatever they want. {Hmmm… that sounds vaguely familiar to Dudes in other areas of my life. HA!} My tenacity has paid off, and with a lot of out-of-the-box thinking I’ve got Tip Junkie up and running on a new platform with a new look. I’m exhausted but seriously excited.

Tip Junkie’s New Look

This is the first step of many as I continue to roll out new features. I hope I can count on your support, patience, and kind comments cheering me on.  {Go Laurie! Go Laurie!}  Since I’ve hired several teams of men who have taken advantage of the fact that I can’t read code… there’s a lot to update.  Tip Junkie’s servers hold a Terabyte of data, which is a LOT!!!!  There will be a bit of a transition as we migrate data from the old site to the new one, but hopefully you won’t even notice! {wink}

What’s In It For You?

Come on… all we really care about is how this effects us, and what we get out of it, right?  {yep, me too}  Here are the perks of the new site:

By popular request {drum roll, please}, for the first time ever…

• A Pinterest button

I will spare you my soap box speech, insights on copyright law, and my personal opinions of why I didn’t participate with Pinterest when I beta tested it in 2010.  I will tell you though, that it’s a passionate story about why I chose to sacrifice traffic and followers for integrity.  Know that I really care about your protection of what you create and share online.  Tip Junkie officially started using Pinterest full time this summer and I’m happy to be able to promote you over there as well.

There’s bunch more technical stuff that is so awesome I should list but it, but it would probably bore you to tears.  With the ying comes the yang… so with the good news there *might* be a little not-so-great news.  So what’s missing, Laurie?

• Update Passwords ~ It’s annoying but you’ll have to update your passwords when you login. Sorry Ladies.  It’s for your protection. {pinky swear}
• Craft Room Coming Soon ~ Because you crafty ladies have uploaded SO many amazing projects to your Tip Junkie craft rooms we have to load those after the initial launch. They are still being displayed online for everyone’s viewing pleasure, they just aren’t connected to your personal profile on the new site yet.  Don’t worry! My robust Amazon Servers have everything safely stored.  I just need time to connect all the dots so that the new software can talk properly to the hardware. I’ve got your back and will get your amazing Craft Room projects onto your Tip Junkie profiles ASAP.
• Free Printables ~ Currently some of the printables {or instant downloads} work great and other’s not so much.  I’m actively working on fixing the permissions request.  I know that when you have a party, event, or holiday you gotta have what you need the moment you need it.  Girl, I totally get it, and if it’s not already working it will be soon.  {high fives}

So, as you can see, the great outweighs the not-so-great.   All will be restored soon as I’ve finally found a team I can trust and who have stellar integrity.  Whoohoo!!

I can’t thank you enough for your loyalty, your creativity, your positivity, and your estrogen.  Raising all boys I so need your estrogen.  {bwaahaa!}
