If you want to be the cool mom on the block this Halloween then bake Wicked Dessert Puffs this Holiday season and invite your kids friends over for a little taste test.  I guarantee they’ll be thrilled and instead of going trick-or-treating, they just might want to hang out at your house.  Wicked Dessert Puffs are a pastry-like chocolatey, peanut-buttery  “Puffection” that adults and kids alike will say “Boo” for!  Guaranteed.
I’m always up for a challenge and so when Pepperidge Farm asked me if I thought I could achieve  “Puffection” this Halloween you know what my answer was!  Bring. It. On.  {{high fives}}
I love this recipe because it tastes delicious, it doesn’t call for a ton of ingredients and it’s easy {although it does take some time}. Â No need to tell everyone just how easy, though. Â {{wink}}
Wicked Dessert Puff Ingredients
- 1Â egg
- 1 tbsp. water
- All-purpose flour
- 1 pkg. (17.3 ounces) Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets, thawed
- 9 full-size milk chocolate peanut butter cup candies
Directions {Step-by-Step}
Step 1
:  Heat the oven to 400°F. Beat the egg and water in a small bowl with a fork.
Step 2
:  Sprinkle the flour on the work surface. Unfold 1 pastry sheet on the work surface. Roll the pastry sheet into an 11-inch square.
Step 3
:  Cut into 9 (3 1/2-inch) circles. Repeat with the remaining pastry sheet. Reserve the pastry scraps to decorate the tops of the pastries, if desired. Step 4:  Brush 9 pastry circles with the egg mixture.  Top each with 1 candy.
Step 5: Place the remaining pastry circles over the candies and press the edges to seal. Crimp the edges with a fork. Step 6:  Decorate the tops of the pastries with the reserved pastry scraps, if desired. Brush the pastries with the egg mixture. Place the pastries onto a baking sheet. Freeze for 20 minutes.
Step 7:  Bake for 20 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown. Remove the pastries from the baking sheet and let cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. *Recipe Note: Use the pastry scraps to customize these puffs for the holidays. You could make Jack o’lanterns for Halloween, Turkeys for Thanksgiving or Christmas ornaments for Christmas! *Easy Substitution: Try substituting “fun-size” chocolate candy bars for the peanut butter cup candies. {wink}
