Congratulations to our two lucky winners! #358, Bobbiann; and #778, Tonya Dew!
I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.

I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!
for·ti·tude ~ Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.

My word is “Still”
Psalm 46:10, Be STILL and know that I am God.
I am the wife of a youth pastor, mother of 2 grown boys, 1 married with a brand new baby! My youngest son leaves in Feb. for college….we are about to transition out of youth ministry, after any years, to a position of Associate Pastor. I am waiver between grief and excitement….I am already missing my boy, who hasn’t even left yet…I have been feeling at loose ends…and I saw a card that had the word STILL written in all caps…and I started to cry, good tears! I needed to be reminded that God has everything in His hands and all I need to do is BE STILL…..stop fretting all the time!!
BE STILL….
K~
My word is “authentic” — I hope to discover what is authentic for me in areas like faith walk, lifestyle, choices, career, etc.
My word would be STRENGTH- I need it after a horrible last year. email subscriber [email protected]
Hmmm…my word would have to be “Sleep”…going to be running around with my three little one’s!
