I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.
I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!

Along with Laurie my word of the year is FORTITUDE. It completely and totally describes what I have been thru for the past nearly 3 years, still am going thru, and doing it all with a smile on my face. Fortitude is definitely my word.
