I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:

I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!

CHANGE
I would like my word to be, Capable
TRUST. I have had a lot of issues the past few years with my health, finally going on disability for the past year. We’ve moved (downsized and moved in with my mother), I’ve lost my job and there have been other changes, too. Through it all, I’m learning that God is good and that I must put my TRUST in Him and Him alone. I still have a lot to learn and hope that my one little word helps me concentrate on this aspect of spiritual growth this year. Thanks.
