I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:

I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!

my word is jubilee! I want to be a happy person this year!
My word for 2012 is Sparkle. I’m a mom of 3 boys, now in midlife and with a new ’empty nest’ at home as the youngest is now in college. Although still working fulltime, I want to find ways to ‘Sparkle’ for myself in 2012. Would love to win a necklace here. Best wishes for you and your word in 2012!!
